Insurer details

Everything we say about a named insurer comes from that insurer's own website. We do not use comparison or aggregator sites as sources. Insurer details were last checked on 26 October 2026, and each insurer's entry links to its site.

Where an insurer's own pages contradicted each other, we left the figure out rather than choosing one. Where we could not load enough of an insurer's site, we say so on its entry.

No ratings, rankings or comparison tables

Pet policies are structured differently: excesses can be annual or per claim, co-payments can change with age, and limits can be overall or per condition. A side-by-side table would suggest the figures are like for like when they are not. Insurers are listed alphabetically.

General facts

Where a guide gives a range, such as typical waiting periods, it is the range across the insurers listed on this site. Other facts come from public bodies such as the Ministry for Primary Industries and the Financial Services Complaints Ltd dispute scheme, linked where they appear.
